Sept 09. Ratha yatra in The Netherlands. In almost all the big cities of The Netherlands the glory of Vedic culture are shown in every summer with the Rathayatra festival moving across the city. This year too the festival was organised in The Hague (see video above), Eindhoven, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. It is very pleasant to see this festival embracing the cult of universal brotherhood, peace and harmoney within the community. It is a unity among the diversity. Here everybody is welcomed, served and entertained in the vedic tradition. Vegetarian food is served to all the visitors for free. More than five hundred people joined the procession.

Ratha yatra is festival in which the lord ofthe universe Sri Krisna in his mercyful form as Jagannath along with His brother and sister comes out to the street to enable people revive their relations with the God. How Krsna appeared in that way and how this tradition began on earth is best explained in a feature film ABHAY CARAN serial. The dieties are now residing in the Naamhat cultural center Boxtel. Everybody is welcomed to see the deities at any time.

Een kort omschrijving Ekadasi

In elke maand zijn er twee Ekadasi. Ekadasi betekent letterlijk de 11e van de dag voor volle maan en nieuwe maan. Deze dag is ook als een Madhava tithi genoemd, de favorite dag van de Heer Krishna. Om Ekadasi volledig na te leven, zoals Ambarisha Maharaja dat deed, is erg zeldzaam. We zouden het zo moeten proberen te doen, maar worden beïnvloedt door dit huidige tijdperk, Kali- yuga . Maharaja Ambarisha leefde in Satya- yuga , en hij was zo sterk dat hij een jaar lang zou hebben kunnen vasten zonder te slapen, terwijl hij op één been zou staan, zonder water te drinken of zelfs maar adem te halen. In Kali- yuga zijn we echter noch sterk noch vergevorderd; maar we zijn toch fortuinlijk. The auspicious month of Kartik, (8th October to 19th November) more popular known as the Month of Damodara, is here once again heralding the spiritually enlivening ‘Festival of Lights’. 6/6/13 Santa Barbara, USA, . Dear Devotees, Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. A few days ago when I got to know that H.H. Giriraj Swami Maharaja was in Santa Barbara I decided to cut short my visit to Sacramento by one day and visit him. My initial plan was to spend two days with my very dear godbrother Udayananda Prabhu in Sacramento. When I informed him of my change of plan, he was not at all happy but when I explained the reason he understood my need to visit Giriraj Maharaja. Fortunately H.H. Indradyumna Swami Maharaja was also present with Giriraj Maharaja. He spends one month every year in Santa Barbara to prepare himself for his Polish tour. It was indeed a spiritual retreat to meet these two very exalted devotees and very dear disciples of Srila Prabhupada.
