Dewali and Bhutanese exiled Hindus





Bhutanese minority Lhotshampas practices Vedic cuture. This they do by putting their belief on God in the center of their activities. Here, during the anual festival of lights - Dipawali, there is a tradition to remind people of the existence of God Sri Ram. People in th eveening of Lakshmi puja goes out to the homes of others with singing band. They sing the glory of Sri Ram and how the evils are defeated by good. This tradition is now brought to The Netherlards by some exiled Bhutanese. Bhutanese regime forcibly exiled about 20% of the population mainly the Lhotshampa minority. Because the Bhutanese present regime rejected their appeal to let them go back to their homes in Bhutan from exile, the Dutch goverment kinldy brought about a hundred Bhutanese refugees to The Netherlands for resettlement. Some of them are still following the Vedic culture. One family originally from Gelegphu
district of Bhutan are holding fast to the Vedic culture. This family Rizal, arranged in their home in Utrecht a feast inwhich the family sang the songs glorifying the Lord. Its is locally called Deusurey, meaning The God Sri Ram (Dev) defeated the Asuras the devils (asurey).



Vedic culture is the ancient way of promotng peace and
harmoney in the society. It welcomes people of all backgrounds to unite and act as one family- the children of God.

In elke maand zijn er twee Ekadasi. Ekadasi betekent letterlijk de 11e van de dag voor volle maan en nieuwe maan. Deze dag is ook als een Madhava tithi genoemd, de favorite dag van de Heer Krishna. Om  Ekadasi  volledig na te leven, zoals Ambarisha Maharaja dat deed, is erg zeldzaam. We zouden het zo moeten proberen te doen, maar worden beïnvloedt door dit huidige tijdperk, Kali- yuga . The time to harvest the spiritual and the material yeilds - Kartik

The auspicious month of Kartik, (8th October to 19th November) more popular known as the Month of Damodara, is here once again heralding the spiritually enlivening ‘Festival of Lights’. Loving Exchanges with my Dear Godbrothers‏- HH Bhakti Caru Swami Maharaj

6/6/13 Santa Barbara, USA, .  Dear Devotees,  Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. A few days ago when I got to know that H.H. Giriraj Swami Maharaja was in Santa Barbara I decided to cut short my visit to Sacramento by one day and visit him. My initial plan was to spend two days with my very dear godbrother Udayananda Prabhu in Sacramento. When I informed him of my change of plan, he was not at all happy but when I explained the reason he understood my need to visit Giriraj Maharaja. Fortunately H.H. Indradyumna Swami Maharaja was also present with Giriraj Maharaja. He spends one month every year in Santa Barbara to prepare himself for his Polish tour. It was indeed a spiritual retreat to meet these two very exalted devotees and very dear disciples of Srila Prabhupada.
