24 May 13, A message from His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami
In appearing as Lord Nrsimhadeva, Lord Krishna manifests as “bhakti-vighna vinasana” – He who removes the impediments from the path of devotion. Therefore it is very important for us to take shelter of Lord Nrsimhadeva’s lotus feet, praying to Him that He removes all obstacles in bhakti-yoga.
In Śrī Brahma-saḿhitā, it is explained that Lord Ganapati – Ganesha – removes all obstacles:
yat-pāda-pallava-yugaḿ vinidhāya kumbha-
dvandve praṇāma-samaye sa gaṇādhirājaḥ
vighnān vihantum alam asya jagat-trayasya
It is by holding the lotus feet of Lord Nrsimhadeva that Lord Ganesha has acquired this ability to remove the impediments of the three regions of the material world – upper, middle and lower. And that is why Lord Ganesha is considered to be “siddhi-data”, the giver of success. In the material context, Lord Ganesha removes the impediments. In the spiritual context, Lord Nrsimhadeva removes the impediments. Once the impediments are removed, then success becomes easy.
Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur first gave Nrsimha mantra to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura, so that Lord Nrsimhadeva would remove all the impediments from the path of devotion. In a similar mood, Srila Prabhupada also taught us to take shelter of Lord Nrsimhadeva.
On this most auspicious day of Nrsimha Caturdasi, let us surrender ourselves completely to Lord Nrsimhadeva’s mercy so that all the impediments of our spiritual life can be removed and we can achieve success in our spiritual endeavours.
Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada,
Bhakti Charu Swami

Naamhat Boxtel will celebrate this auspicious occassion Nrisimha caturdasi for the Lord on whose shelter we could survive. Please come. Everyone is welcome.
