Krishna stelde de eisen die we moeten ontwikkelen als de eigenschappen zodat men mogen toegang krijgen naar Zijn spirituele planeet. Zo is het verteld in de Bhagavad Gita Zoals Ze Is.

' Hij die niet vijandig is, maar een goede vriend is van alle levende wezens, die zichzelf niet als een eigenaar beschouwt en vrij is van vals ego, die zowel in geluk als ellende gelijkmoedig blijft, die verdraagzaam, altijd tevreden en beheerst is, die met vastberadenheid en met zijn geest en intelligentie op Mij gericht devotionele dienst verricht — zo’n toegewijde van Mij is Me zeer dierbaar' Lees verder de tekst 13 en 14 van Hoofdstuk 12

Srila Prabhupada, door zijn uitleg van deze tekst van Bhagavad Gita 12.13-14 beschermd de mensen van allerlei achtergronden tegen de neiging om atheïstische te worden. Bijvoorbeeld: 'Telkens wanneer een toegewijde lijdt of in moeilijkheden raakt, ziet hij dat als de genade van de Heer. Hij denkt: ‘Door mijn vroegere wandaden zou ik veel, veel meer moeten lijden dan ik nu doe. Het is dus door de genade van de Allerhoogste Heer dat ik niet alle straf krijg die ik verdien. Door de genade van de Allerhoogste Persoonlijkheid Gods krijg ik alleen maar een beetje.’ Daarom ontwikkeld hij de eigenschappen namelijk:

dat hij of zijn altijd kalm zijn, zwijgzaam en geduldig, ondanks veel moeilijke of pijnlijke omstandigheden. Een toegewijde is verder altijd vriendelijk voor iedereen, zelfs voor zijn vijand.

Hoe kunnen wij deze eigenschappen zich ontwikkelen? Dit was onderwerp van de programma van mei in Naamhat Boxtel. Fotos van de deelnemers te zien.
