Four principles for world peace

16/3/13. Everyone deserves freedom, peace and happiness. Everyone strives for it in many ways, almost eternally. Yet this has always been hard to attain. But it is easily attainable given that people irrespective of their beackground accept without prejudices and preeconceived notion, the precept given in the Bhagavad Gita explained in its As It Is edition by His Divine Grace Bhaktivednta Swami Prabhupada. Now speaking very concisely, Markandeya Prabhu, the temple president of Amsterdam explained those precepts on the Naamhat cultural event of March, described in short here.
The four regulated principles of freedom to practice are namely: 1, no meat eating; also no eggs, fish, onion and garlic; 2, No intoxication what so ever, 3. No illicit sex and 4. No gambling.
Markandeya prabhu from Germany
If we all human beings, whether we are Hindu, Moslim, Christian, Buddhist or any background, rise up to refrain from these four bad habits, one shall surely attain peace and finally also the liberation. Peace is possible by refraining these four habits because they are the pillars of sin. A sinful practitioner can never be happy. If one refrains from doing these four sins, one then gets rid from action- reation cycle and thus attaining the liberation is possible. Acting in the manner that one doesn't get into the effects of one's actions but pleases the supreme absolute, God Krishna is called the devotional service.
At this moment on earth these four regulated priciples of freedom from sinful reactions, is not practiced by the mass of people because of their preconcieved notions and prejudices that this doctrine was professed by the Lord Krishna - see Bahagavad Gita chapter 2 verse 64 reproduced below. Markandeya highlighted that if the preachers of all other faiths; ie Christian pastors, Islam Imams, Buddhist lamas and Hindu priests and so on give up their preconcieved notions and prejudices that this doctrine is of Vedic Hindu's, and accept the fact that it is indeed the universal principles applicable to all mankind irrespective of their faith, peace in the human society will be attainable in very short time. All the preacers of all faiths or religions should emphasize not to eat meat, not to engage in gambling, illicit sex and intoxication. One has to raise themselves above the aminalistic nature of engaging only in eating, sleeping, mating and defending and practice these regulated principles of freedom. This should be be done by all, as the God is one and for all and God's words are for all to put into practice. These are not the Hindu religious principles. It is universal natural law and one who abides by this law will be happy. Atleast believe in this one verse:
Chapter 2. Contents of the Gita Summarized

TEXT 64

visayan indriyais caran
atma-vasyair vidheyatma
prasadam adhigacchati
SYNONYMS
raga--attachment; dvesa--detachment; vimuktaih--by one who has been free from such things; tu--but; visayan--sense objects; indriyaih--by the senses; caran--acting; atma-vasyaih--one who has control over;vidheya-atma--one who follows regulated freedom; prasadam--the mercy of the Lord; adhigacchati--attains.
TRANSLATION
One who can control his senses by practicing the regulated principles of freedom can obtain the complete mercy of the Lord and thus become free from all attachment and aversion.
PURPORT
It is already explained that one may externally control the senses by some artificial process, but unless the senses are engaged in the transcendental service of the Lord, there is every chance of a fall. Although the person in full Krsna consciousness may apparently be on the sensual plane, because of his being Krsna conscious, he has no attachment to sensual activities. The Krsna conscious person is concerned only with the satisfaction of Krsna, and nothing else. Therefore he is transcendental to all attachment. If Krsna wants, the devotee can do anything which is ordinarily undesirable; and if Krsna does not want, he shall not do that which he would have ordinarily done for his own satisfaction. Therefore to act or not to act is within his control because he acts only under the direction of Krsna. This consciousness is the causeless mercy of the Lord, which the devotee can achieve in spite of his being attached to the sensual platform.

The time to harvest the spiritual and the material yeilds - Kartik

The auspicious month of Kartik, (8th October to 19th November) more popular known as the Month of Damodara, is here once again heralding the spiritually enlivening ‘Festival of Lights’. Its the month for harvesting material yeild from the corn, maize and barley field and also harvest the stpiritual wealth by devotional service to Damodar. Mother Yasoda bound little mischievous Krishna with ropes to the grinding mortar for having stolen butter and thus He came to be known as Damodara. The significance is in that the Lord of the Universe can be bound only by the rope of pure love. During thus Damodara month, devotees get the opportunity to personally offer Arati to Lord Damodara with ghee lamps and sing the very enchanting ‘Damodara astakam’, to receive the special mercy of the Lord. The Glories Of Kartik month “Pure devotional service to Me which, because it places Me under My devotee’s dominion, is very difficult to attain, is easily attained by following this vow in Mathura dur

Loving Exchanges with my Dear Godbrothers‏- HH Bhakti Caru Swami Maharaj

6/6/13 Santa Barbara, USA, .  Dear Devotees,  Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. A few days ago when I got to know that H.H. Giriraj Swami Maharaja was in Santa Barbara I decided to cut short my visit to Sacramento by one day and visit him. My initial plan was to spend two days with my very dear godbrother Udayananda Prabhu in Sacramento. When I informed him of my change of plan, he was not at all happy but when I explained the reason he understood my need to visit Giriraj Maharaja. Fortunately H.H. Indradyumna Swami Maharaja was also present with Giriraj Maharaja. He spends one month every year in Santa Barbara to prepare himself for his Polish tour. It was indeed a spiritual retreat to meet these two very exalted devotees and very dear disciples of Srila Prabhupada. Giriraj Maharaja has a place in Santa Barbara which is about one and a half hours drive from Los Angeles. It is a very serene and beautiful place famous for avocado a
