All glories to the Vedic culture and all glories to Srila Prabhupada who propagated it worldwide. The inauguration of the Krishna Balaram Temple was held on21 to 23rd September 2012 in the capital city Gaborone.
The temple is reconed as the state of the art with its design resembling the Neela-chakra mounted on the famous Jagannatha Puri. Its tomb is a Sudarshan chakra that weigh 80 kilos of astadhatu putting the modern sky scrapes in the shade.
During the inauguration, the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana, Dr Ponatshego HK Kedikilwe, PH, that this complex will provide a unique opportunity for Botswana's diverse cultures and religions to convene and open their doors and hearts to each other,which will serve as an embodiment of a proud and united nation.
At the installation ceremony of the smaller Lordships the First welcome Aarti wasperformed by HH Bhakti Charu Swami. Performing the First Rajboga Aarti was HH Lokanath Swami with kirtan led by HH Bhakti Charu Swami. Every one was given an opportunity to offer the First Aarti during the main Aarticeremony. “This is a non-sectarian movement, and now that we have such an excellent Temple, I look forward to seeing the devotees of the Temple taking full advantage of it to cultivate Krishna Consciousness in their lives and spread the Good Fortune of Krishna Consciousness vigorously for the benefit of others", said HH Jayadvaita Swami.
