Vyaspuja celebrated

Honouring the day Sri Vyasadev for the first time put into written words the Sruti and Smriti form of the transcendentale knowldge of the Vedas left the tradition to observe the birthday of the spiritual masters as the vyasa puja day. Accordingly the Krishna Naamhat Dham in Boxtel organised the Vyasa puja ceremoney on 17th September coinciding the day Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Prabhupad took Srimad Bhagavatam series to Amirica in 1969 and propagated the vedic wisdom, buiding 108 temples wordwide in ten years time. Also it was the birthday of His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami. Many devotees gathered in the temple and celebrated the Guru Vyas puja. The host presented to all the participants fotos of Srila Prabhupada. Viswaroop prabhu explained the significance of living under the guidence of the spiritual master and prepare for the next life in the spiritual world.

Een kort omschrijving Ekadasi

In elke maand zijn er twee Ekadasi. Ekadasi betekent letterlijk de 11e van de dag voor volle maan en nieuwe maan. Deze dag is ook als een Madhava tithi genoemd, de favorite dag van de Heer Krishna. Om Ekadasi volledig na te leven, zoals Ambarisha Maharaja dat deed, is erg zeldzaam. We zouden het zo moeten proberen te doen, maar worden beïnvloedt door dit huidige tijdperk, Kali- yuga . Maharaja Ambarisha leefde in Satya- yuga , en hij was zo sterk dat hij een jaar lang zou hebben kunnen vasten zonder te slapen, terwijl hij op één been zou staan, zonder water te drinken of zelfs maar adem te halen. In Kali- yuga zijn we echter noch sterk noch vergevorderd; maar we zijn toch fortuinlijk. The time to harvest the spiritual and the material yeilds - Kartik

The auspicious month of Kartik, (8th October to 19th November) more popular known as the Month of Damodara, is here once again heralding the spiritually enlivening ‘Festival of Lights’. 6/6/13 Santa Barbara, USA, . Dear Devotees, Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. A few days ago when I got to know that H.H. Giriraj Swami Maharaja was in Santa Barbara I decided to cut short my visit to Sacramento by one day and visit him. My initial plan was to spend two days with my very dear godbrother Udayananda Prabhu in Sacramento. When I informed him of my change of plan, he was not at all happy but when I explained the reason he understood my need to visit Giriraj Maharaja. Fortunately H.H. Indradyumna Swami Maharaja was also present with Giriraj Maharaja. He spends one month every year in Santa Barbara to prepare himself for his Polish tour. It was indeed a spiritual retreat to meet these two very exalted devotees and very dear disciples of Srila Prabhupada.
