Garud Puran samengevat bij Naamhat Boxtel

De laatste sanskar-antesthi kriya moet worden gedaan met de hulp van een priester wanneer men verlaat zijn of haar lichaam.

Ook wanneer een beginnende toegewijde het lichaam verlaat, is een priester vereist om deze laatste rituelen uit te voeren, vooral voor de eerste en de laatste drie dagen.

Als er geen ISKCON priester beschikbaar is om te helpen uitvoeren van deze rituelen, wordt er geadviseerd om een karmakandi priester te roepen om deze laatste rituelen te doen voor de overleidende toegewijden. Een karmakandi priester voert deze met gebruik van de Garud Purana. 
In het Noord-India, Nepal en Bhutan de brahmanen reciteren van de Garud Puran voor de rouwenden tijdens de rouwperiode te luisteren. Maar de inhoud van de Puran is niet veel uitgelegd of begrepen wordt om het voordeel van te krijgen. 

Een Vaisnava toegewijde hoeft niet de laatste rituelen uit te voeren op dezelfde manier de anderen kunnen kiezen om te doen. Maar als men te weinig verheven tot Krishna bewustzijn kunnen zijn, is het noodzakelijk om de rituelen doen in de Karmakandi werkwijze en biedt het resultaat aan Krishna. Een Karmakandi priester zal altijd blij zijn om dat te doen. 

Ook als de overleden familieleden niet Krishna bewust waren, en hun ziel kunnen worden gevangen in de subtiele vorm van entiteiten, om hen te bevrijden dergelijke rituelen bieden de mogelijkheden.

In dit verband, Anupam prabhu stelde zich voor de karmakandi priester te roepen. Dharmachetra prabhu, die erkend zou zijn door de Nederlandse Hindoe Raad als een pundit suggereert ook hetzelfde te doen.

In dit kader legde Anupam prabhu de inhoud van de Garud Puran. Vandaar uit hebben de deelnemers begreppen hoe belangrijk is om deze kennis te hebben ten opzichte van de laatste rituelen.
