Hare Krishna feest is heel leuk

15 maart werd er in het Gemeenschaphuis ‘De Walnoot’ in Boxtel het sankirtan met het holi festival gevierd. Hare Krishna volgelingen houden heel vaak het feest en heten ze: sankirtan.

Er was heel leuk moment voor kinderen en volwassenen. Mensen zingen de maha mantra met de hele (mid)dag op een spirituele sfeer, en de kinderen konden knutselen of buiten spelen.

Precies in de middag waren er al wat mensen in de zaal voor de voorbereidingen en om alles mooi te versieren. Er was een altaar opgezet. De zaal was meteen veranderd naar een tempel.

Om 1 uur ging iedereen naar het station en begon we harinam doen door de stad en kwamen we uiteindelijk in het gemeenschaphuis. De eerste zanger was een man uit Belgie en zong hij de liederen toegewijd aan de Heer Krishna. Daarna begon de kirtan, het was supergezellig omdat iedereen ging dansen en zingen.

De kinderen speelden buiten met holipoeder en na een tijdje zat iedereen helemaal onder (ook de volwassenen). Daarna gingen we prasadam eten, die was heel lekker, het was; rijst, groentenmix, bonensoep, halva, cakejes, laddu en burfi.

Ondertussen ging de kirtan gewoon door. We speelden nog even buiten en daarna gingen we arati doen, we deden de polonaise en het was superduper leuk. Daarna was het afgelopen met het verheerlijking aan Krishna. Dan het meeste mensen gingen weg en veel kregen nog eten mee wat over was. Wij bleven nog even om op te ruimen.

Het was een superleuke dag! Ik verwacht nog hetzelfde culturenfeest te beleven op 18 oktober en wil ik zeker meedoen.
