Pakisthani devotees in the New Year Sankirtan

On the New Year 2012 feast in the Naamhat Boxtel, the participants exchanged this immortal gift, an aphorism in becoming Krishna Conscious together with the devotees orginally from Pakisthan. Among the hundreds of invitees to come together for the Vedic cultural activites organised every 3rd Saturdays, this year has started with very interesting group from Pakisthan who has been showing interest in Vedic culture and the science of Krishna Consciousness. People from Vedic and non Vedic cultural background alike were always appealed to come together, at least once in a month and enjoy collectively the oasis of this culture. Generally the immigrant Nepalese and Bhutanese are being approached for this purpose but yet less than a hand of them turned up so far in the last ten years. Besides these, quite a number of indigeniuous Dutch people and those of Indian background have been participating in this cultural programs, intended for social and cultural integration in The Netherlands. To the organisors of this Naamhat, welcoming another group namely the Pakisthanis is very encouraging and cordial.

On the New Year sankirtan program two Pakisthani families arrived with much enthusism. Their relatives and neighbours also sent their interest and willingness to come in future. Another family was from Indian background. We had very interesting interaction and sankirtan together. They came with the children. Children performed a drama based on Puran, the appearance of Sri Krishna-Vishnu in the form of Sri Nrisimha Deva and rescued Praladh. Childrens are the backbone of the society and if they are brought up scientifical methods of Krishna consciousness they shall become very useful to their communities and the state at large because they develop amicable attitude to see evryone as the family of the Lord. They will have very peaceful manners and environmentally friendly conduct being vegetarian.

Perhaps having had difficulties being devotees of Hindu tradition in the country where other´s faith is not much appreciated, Pakisthani devotees has much attachment to the deities and wishdom behind worshiping them. Srila Prabhupada who propagated this Vedic culture has been uniting the people of all backgrounds despite all odds related to politics and seclussion. Its his contribution that we are distributing though Naamhat programs, the best gift to the dearest ones, the science of Krishna consciousness. Through the participations to such programs, the goal of the human form of life can be attained. Its the cultural orientations that divides people but also unites with each other irrespective of the background they are when its expressed with good will and love.

Op 5 december 2011 is de Gita Jayanti. Dit is een gelegenheid gesteld in de Vedische cultuur om na te denken naar de absolute waarheid zoals het gegeven is in de Bhagavad Gita Zo As Ze Is.

Op Gita Jayanti herdenken we de dag waarop Heer Krishna de Bhagavad-gita sprak tot Zijn dierbare toegewijde Arjuna op de plek die bekend staat als Jyotisar Tirtha, Kurukshetra, temidden van de strijdende Kuru’s en Pandava’s. Het is nog steeds mogelijk om deze plek te bezoeken en het monument te zien van Heer Krishna als “Partha-sarathi” (de wagenmenner) en Arjuna als strijder. Reproduced from April 2009. The spiritual practice must start in the early age so that they can deal with the sufferings from the material bondage later on easily. This helps one connect with the supreme and just like a factory owner provides facilities to his factory manager, one's life will be prosperous if one becomes the devotee of the lord Krsihna.

Bhakti or devotion is the only thing that if one follows to do, he or she makes difference as human being because devotion to the supreme can be easily done when the living entity has the human form of body. In other forms of bodies that is not possible. So the human form of body is the blessed one provided the consciousness is developed to attain Krishna consciousness, the highest one, out of one's enthusism.

19/11/11. The presence of a devotee of the Lord Krishna, in other words, a Vaisnavan at the time of death in anyone’s family is a blessing to the departing soul. Kevin prabhu from Belgium in his preaching at the Naamhat Boxtel on 3^rd Saturday of November highlighted this spirit where he has practically applied the teachings of Bhagavad Gita As It Is in a difficult circumstance in which his friend, a nurse, left her body that has to be cremated. This is a supreme declaration and the goal of the human form of life. Just like a king does have a palace some where in the capital of a country, the Lord has His own planet in the spiritual universes. And because all the living entities are His parts and parcels, the human form of life is so special that can realize God or can become Krishna Conscious so that the same consciousness will enable the departing soul to be transferred to that spiritual kingdom where the Lord lives. Then the goal of the human form of life will be attained.

But what happens when one cannot think of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna at the time of death? The answer to this lies in the freedom given to the human beings and the consequences they have to bear of their own actions. One will naturally think of the activities he or she has been engaged and the desire thereof to enjoy the fruits of those activities, even at the last moment of life. The answer is thus obvious. Whatever state of being one remembers when he quits his body, O son of Kunti, that state he will attain without fail- Bhagavad Gita 8.6. Here it is the fact to be understood that if some one is thinking of his pet dog at the time of death he/she will get the body of a dog in the next life. That is the result of his consciousness. But if he thinks of the Lord, he will have a spiritual body of eternal bliss and happiness in the spiritual planet. After all, we are spirit souls originally, but because of our forgetfulness of the spirituality, we are covered and conditioned to suffer in different bodies life after life. Therefore to break this cycle of sufferings, the Krishna consciousness process taught by the world’s most empowered spiritual personality Srila Prabhupada is the divine gift to all. There is no other process although many preachers do say that whichever way you may follow, or do always good, you will reach the same destination. The Lord declared in BG.9:25- Yanti deva..that ‘Those who worship the demigods will take birth among the demigods; whose who worships the ancestors go to the ancestors; those who worship ghosts and spirits will take birth among those beings; and those who worship Me will live with Me’. This is where life goes after death.

A Vaisnava or one who is Krishna conscious would help one attain a better life on this earth and the next- after death too. Kevin prabhu, in his discourse elaborated his help to the departing soul, that he chanted the maha mantra and offered the auspicious items that invoke the consciousness towards the divine existence. What could be the result of a successful death can also be visible in the body of the dying one and the environment he is in. Passing stool or urine at the time of death would mean to suggest that he saw terrible things tormenting him and was terribly afraid at the time of leaving the body. This would mean that ghost or spirits and or yamaduta has taken that soul for the final judgment. The conditioned soul identifies him with the body and taken away by his false ego, mind and intelligence he develops a subtle body that undergoes various phases after death.

But a Krishna conscious person do not develop such a false ego, ie identifying the body as the self, and his mind and intelligence engaged in the spiritual or devotional service to the supreme, gets purified and will be able to think of the supreme absolute, the Lord, at the time of death. Thus as declared by the Lord Himself he/she will be able to go to live in the kingdom of God, after death. The death of such a self-realized person will be blessed with devotees around, there will be divine symptoms and death takes as a happy departure, escorted by Vishnu dutas. A very highly elevated pious devotee can even go to the spiritual world without leaving the body behind, and one such example is of Tukaram, a follower of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu who is Krishna Himself appearing as a devotee to teach the practical application of the Bhagavd Gita. Hare Krishna Pakisthan

12/11/11. At times of dufficulty Hare Krishna's scientific approach to human happiness is practical in life and at the time of death. This is the impression a family originally from Pakisthan living in Rotterdam gave to the aspirant devotees who gathered for the Vedic cultural program organised in their house on 12th November 2011.

Worth to mention is that their family members in Pakisthan are dedicated in chanting the mahamantra that gave them the real happiness at times of difficulties like the death in the family. 'When my mother left her body, she was leaning at my father's breast and calling the name of the Lord Krishna- Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna' said Manoj showing the visitors fotos and videos of the gatherings of devotees chanting Hare Krishna mahamantra during the funeral rites of his mother.

He said that the devotees in dozens came to their home all the 13 days of the mourning period and chanted the glories of the Supreme, day and night. This is something surprising which is taking place in Pakisthan. This is the mercy of Srila Prabhupada that despite the severe divide between the followers of Hindu and Islam, there is still an amicable scientific approach to human life to live in peace and harmoney. And that approach is the Hare Krishna tradition.

Naamhat program is addressing the people at the grassroot level. Manoj has his old mother-in-law and other little children to take care and everyone of them found peace in this tradition of Hare Krishna. He has perhaps for the first time launched such a program in his new home in Rotterdam that purifies his existence. About 20 devotees gathered there and did about three hours of bhajan kirtan.

It is expected that this family will conduct regular sankirtan program at home. At times of difficulties during the divide of India and Pakisthan devotional sevice of Vaisnavism continued in few families and lived happily. So in the materialistic metropolitan city practicing this traditon shall not be difficult. Hare Krishna, when taken up honestly will address anyone's heart and enlighten them with real happiness. It is the only scientific approach that sees no borders of any kind among all the living entities.

Gross Overall Happiness through Mahamantra

If you ask me for the talisman that can make you happy, healthy and rich, I will recommend the divine talisman, the touchstone for your soul and that is the Mahamantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare. This mantra is the concluding essence of the Vedas. This mantra is the real Gyan or knowledge. This mantra opens up your divine eye. Chant this mantra and you feel the reaity.

When I first landed in Holland from a remote country, the Kingdom of Bhutan, I found myself in hell. I had no one, no money, no more cloth than what I was wearing- a trouser with holes at my back, a shirt and a jacket given by someone in the street. I was bereaved from my families and countrymen and dropped in the strange place that is totally opposite to where I was grown up.

By fortune and also thorough my own efforts and enthusiasm to Vedic culture, one day I met a devotee of ISKCON. Then onwards my life began to change to better. My overall condition improved. One day I met Mahavishnu Swami Maharaj in the house of a devotee Bhagavad Dharmadas. Maharaj was very sympathetic to me, seing my misarable contidion and looked at me with such a mercyful glance that drove all my awaiting reactions of my sinful acts. I was already chanting for few months, the Hare Krsna mahamantra and found this as the fruit of my chanting.

Maharaj told me to conduct Vedic cultural program or Naamhat and assured me that if I do this sincerely I can achieve everything, like money, good family, fame, health and over all the happiness from within. I agreed and decided to obey what Maharaj adviced me. Soon I was allowed to bring my wife and child Kesavi- see video below, whom I left behind when she was about one and half year old. I had not seen them for those last three years.

I started Naamhat program from the 3rd Sarurday of August 2002, on the auspicious occassion of Pabitropana Ekadasi. Maharaj told me that, just like the owner of a big company gives all the necessary facilities to his company manager, Lord Krishna will provide anything and everything to anyone who conducts Naamhat and helps in others' spiritual advancement. I declare boldly that what Maharaj told me was really true. It came everything true and I am really blessed. I am still continuing this program and will do this forever. This is the only activity that gives me and my family the real happiness. Please use me for your spiritual benefit.

Dear Friend Mahatmajee,

Please accept my respectful Namaskar. I am your unknown friend but I had to write to you at times and again although you never cared to reply them. I sent you my papers "Back to Godhead" but your secretaries told me that you have very little time to read the letters and much less for reading the magazines. I asked for an interview with you but your busy secretaries never cared to reply this. Anyway as I am your very old friend although unknown to you I am again writing to you in order to bring you to the rightful position deserved by you. As a sincere friend I must not deviate from my duty towards a friend like your good self.

I tell you as a sincere friend that you must immediately retire from active politics if you do not desire to die an inglorious death. You have 125 years to live as you have desired to live but you if you die an inglorious death it is no worth. The honour and prestige that you have obtained during the course of you present life time, were not possible to be obtained by any one else within the living memory. But you must know that all these honours and prestiges were false in as much as they were created by the Illusory Energy of Godhead called the maya. By this falsity I do not mean to say that your so many friends were false to you nor you were false to them. By this falsity I mean illusion or in other words the false friendship and honours obtained thereby were but creation of maya and therefore they are always temporary or false as you may call it. But none of you neither your friends nor yourself knew this truth.

Now by the Grace of God that illusion is going to be cleared and thus your faithful friends like Acarya Kripalini and others are accusing you for your inability at the present moment to give them any practical programme of work as you happened to give them during your glorious days of non-co-operation movement. So you are also in a plight to find out a proper solution for the present political tangle created by your opponents. You should therefore take a note of warning from your insignificant friend like me, that unless you retire timely from politics and engage yourself cent per cent in the preaching work of Bhagavad-gita, which is the real function of the Mahatmas, you shall have to meet with such inglorious deaths as Mussolini, Hitlers, Tojos, Churchills or Lloyd Georges met with.

You can very easily understand as to how some of your political enemies in the garb of friends (both Indian and English) have deliberately cheated you and have broken your heart by doing the same mischief for which you have struggled so hard for so many years. You wanted chiefly Hindu-Moslem unity in India and they have tactfully managed to undo your work, by creation of the Pakistan and India separately. You wanted freedom for India but they have given permanent dependence of India. You wanted to do something for the upliftment of the position of the bhangis but they are still rotting as bhangis even though you are living in the bhangi colony. They are all therefore illusions and when these things will be presented to you as they are, you must consider them as God-sent. God has favored you by dissipating the illusion you were hovering in, and by the same illusion you were, nursing those ideas as Truth(?).

You must know that you are in the relative world which is called by the sages as Dvaita i.e. dual- and nothing is absolute here. Your Ahimsa is always followed by Himsa as the light is followed by darkness or the father is followed by the son. Nothing is absolute truth in this dual world. You did not know this neither you ever cared to know this from the right sources and therefore all your attempts to create unity were followed by disunity and Ahimsa. Ahimsa was followed by Himsa.

But it is better late than never. You must know now something about the Absolute Truth. The Truth with which you have been experimenting so long is relative. The relative truths are creations of the daivi maya qualified by the three modes of Nature. They are all insurmountable as is explained in the Bhagavad-gita (7.14). The Absolute Truth is the Absolute Godhead.

In the Katha Upanisad it is ordered that one must approach the bona fide Guru who is not only well versed in all the scriptures of the world but is also the realized soul in Brahman the Absolute—in order to learn the science of Absolute Truth. So also it is instructed in the Bhagavad-gita as follows:—

tad viddhi pranipatena
pariprasnena sevaya
upadeksyanti tad jnanam
jnaninas tattvadarsinah
(Bg. 4.34)

But I know that you never underwent such transcendental training except some severe penances which you invented for your purpose as you have invented so many things in the course of experimenting with the relative truths. You might have easily avoided them if you had approached the Guru as abovementioned. But your sincere efforts to attain some Godly qualities by austerities etc surely have raised you to some higher position which you can better utilize for the purpose of the Absolute Truth. If you, however, remain satisfied with such temporary position only and do not try to know the Absolute Truth, then surely you are to fall down from the artificially exalted position under the laws of Nature. But if you really want to approach the Absolute Truth and want to do some real good to the people in general all over the world, which shall include your ideas of unity, peace and non-violence, then you must give up the rotten politics immediately and rise up for the preaching work of the philosophy and religion of "Bhagavad-gita'' without offering unnecessary and dogmatic interpretations on them. I had occasionally discussed this subject in my paper "Back to Godhead'' and a leaf from the same is enclosed herewith for your reference.

I would only request you to retire from politics at least for a month only and let us have discussion on the Bhagavad-gita. I am sure, thereby, that you shall get a new light from the result of such discussions not only for your benefit but for the benefit of the world at large—as I know that you are sincere, honest and moralist.

“Your Deep Compassion”

Dearest Srila Prabhupada,
 
Please accept my most humble obeisances in the dust of your lotus feet.
 
Thirty four years ago today you departed from our material vision.

Although the departures of pure devotees are celebrated as glorious in

the vaisnava tradition, I honestly have never felt this to be a day of festivities.
Instead of celebrating, I feel more comfortable spending time alone
remembering your pastimes amongst us and reflecting on my service

to your divine mission.
 
Of course, it was natural that you would leave one day. My godbrother Pita
dasa relates in his memoirs how, a few days before your departure, he heard
you ask a group of devotees at your bedside, “Why are you all crying?”
 
“Because you are so sick, Srila Prabhupada,” one of the devotees replied.
“We are afraid you may leave.”
 
It was then that you made a statement that has become famous.
 
“I will never die,” you said. “I will live forever in my books.”
 
Some moments passed; the only sound was soft chanting from some of the
devotees. Then you began speaking again.
 
“Old people die. That is natural,” you said. “When a young person dies that
is a mistake because young persons should live until they are old. But I am
old. So don’t cry.”
 
“But Srila Prabhupada,” one devotee said. “We are crying because we can’t
live without you and when you leave we won’t know how to communicate with you.”
 
“I will communicate with you through your heart,” you said. “And I will come
to you in your dreams.”
 
When I heard Pita dasa relate this memory of you, I felt very happy because
sometimes I do dream about you. Only a few nights ago, after a particularly
wonderful public festival we held here in Brazil, I dreamed that you called
me to your room. When I entered, you were lying on your bed about to take
rest. You gestured towards your desk.
 
“Please read my mail to me,” you said.
 
On the desk was a small pile of aerogram letters from your disciples around
the world. I opened the letters and began reading them aloud. Letter after
letter related the success of your mission in different countries. One of
them caught my attention. The devotee described the suffering of the people
in the country in which he was preaching, how they were afflicted by
poverty, hunger and civil war. As I read that letter to you I heard you make
a sound. I looked up and I saw tears streaming down your cheeks.
 
“Only Krsna consciousness will save them,” you said in a soft broken voice.
 
Touched by your deep empathy for the fallen souls, I also began crying. I
felt that by your mercy, you had allowed me to share your sentiments for a
brief moment. I woke up and I was shocked to find my face wet with tears.
 
Srila Prabhupada, that dream was very significant for me because it
reconfirmed the importance of your mission. It helped me to understand that
your compassion for the suffering people in this world is one of your very
deep spiritual emotions.
 
My dear spiritual master, although I have dedicated over forty years of my
life to this mission, I am still an aspiring bhakta. Anyone can see that. I
do not understand prema bhakti, love of God, nor do I know the intricacies
of pure devotional service. But I do know something of your deep, unlimited
compassion. I understand this compassion because I am a recipient of it. I
also understand that you desire for others to experience it, and therefore I
would like to continue delivering your compassion to the fallen souls for as
long as I may live. As for deeper realizations, I am confident that by
following your instruction to preach Krsna consciousness, you will be
pleased and will bestow the secrets of devotional service to me.

In a far distant corner of Vrindavan, in a place known as Badrinath, there
is a large mysterious stone called Sugandhi-sila. It gives off a very
beautiful, heavenly fragrance. My dear spiritual master, I pray that your
mercy will transform my stone-like heart into something divine like that
Sugandhi-sila. Then perhaps I too will cry tears of compassion as you did
when hearing of the miseries of others; and like you I will go out to preach
the divine command with unswerving determination.
 
Srila Prabhupada, I am now old and thus my departure is also imminent. As
you said, because of my age, there will be nothing to lament when the time

Very special month of the year in view of vedic culture is kartik that falls in the month of Oct/Nov. Its the month of Sri Damodar, another name of the Lord Krishna denoting His pastimes of playing with his mother and also liberate Nal and Kubera who gotted the body of trees owing to their bad action in the past. This month is the harvesting the yeaid of the year and the Vedic culture celebrate this harvesting as supports self-sufficiency by means of agronomy and cow rearing. This is the most environment friendly way of livelyhood and one reaps the yeild during this month. And for the Lord Krsna is this month a favourite one.

In this month, some five thousand years ago, Krsna, the supreme God came down from his abode the Golok, to this earth plannet in the family of Yadu dynasty and had his childhood pasttimes merely like any human child, but they far beyound human perception. This is becasue even if Krsna appeared on earth and looked like an ordinary person, he is spiritual, unborn and absolute. During his childhood itself, he defended the demonic rivals who are very powerful. He lifted the Govardhan hill for seven days when the demi God in charge of climate challanged to flood the entire hill. These are something only the God can do.

In one of the pasttime, he ate curd directly from the churning pot which was not allowed and his mother Yashoda got angry. She then tried to tie him up in a mortar, but every time she takes long ropes to tie arround his belly there appeared two inches short. She picked another rope and tried, yet it is short by two inches. She toook dozens of rope but yet it became short by two inches. What is that miracle? God is almighty and not in control of any one. He is the controller. He can be bound by love alone, not with any other means. At the end when mother Yashoda was tired, Krishna allowed her to tie him up. Then was everything possible. The lesson here is to learn that nothing can be possible without the mercy of the God. One has to endeavour for the success but at the same time love God so that His mercy will make every endeavours a success. That is the key to success, the reason behind why the rope was short by two inches.

In the month of Kartik people offer butter lamps to the deity of the Lord Damodar. This tradition in many places, even in India and Nepal degraded and people began putting a lamp high above the top of their houses. People have forgotten God Krsna and that all sacrifice and offerings should be done for his pleasure. In the Naamhat center we revive this culture and evryone, irrespective of their faith and background can come and participate.

Srila Prabhupada's arrival to America is the blessings to the world

Srila Prabhupada stepped the USA with the blessings of world peace and communal harmoney, bestowed by the supreme personality of Godhead Sri Krishna.

He arrived with the Vedic trancendental revealed wisdom on 17th September 1965 at 5:30 in the morning. He put his lotus feet firstly at Boston's Commonwealth Pier, all alone and pennyless. He had a visa for two months but returned finally to India only after building 108 temples around the world in ten years period. He set a revolution to eleviate people of all background to the higher consciousness called Krisna Consciousness by building better society all over the world under the guidence of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, he established in New York a year later. The life of anyone coming in cotact of this society or the books he wrote could see the change to trancendental bliss and meaningful, secured even for the life beyound this earth.This will eventually enable one to go back to the Godhead.

66th Vyaspuja celebrations in Boxtel

" I recognise the contribution of Srila Prabhupada and come to celebrate his arrival in the West" , said a Dutch man from Nijmegen who came to Naamhat Boxtel for the first time, on the occassion of Srila Prabhupadas Arrival Anniversay and the Vysa puja day of HH Bhakti Caru Swami Maharaj. Also came a Dutch lady and another deotvee from Leiden for the first time whose presence made this celebrations quite wonderful.

The program began with the glorification of Srila Prabhupada and of those who are contributing much to the mission of Srila Prabhupada. One cannot describe the strength and the contribution of the pure devotee of the Lord, so what Srila Prabhupada did for the peace and happiness of the entire world citizen is unfathomable. His disciples for example His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami and grand disciples are continuing his legacy perfectly.

Of the many many grand disciples, in my knowledge, the contribution of Shyam Sundar prahu who has been running Radhay Syam temple in Den Haag for more than a decade and organising Ratha Yatra in Den Haag is the contemporary example of the best contribution to the misson of Srila Prabhupada if his plan of contructing a temple in The Hague comes to a reality. On this occassion, therefore, Vrajendrasutta Das glorified his contribution and looks forward to help him in whatever way he can. Then all the participants spoke about their satisfaction of the Krsna conscious life and thanked Srila Prabhupada. Some auspicious items like diyo, kalas, tulasi, dainee sankha and upabita was offered to His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami with the prayer for his good health and longivity. At that time Brahma Samhita was rehearsed followed by kirtan and prasad.

What Srila Prabhupada and his followers are preaching is the essence of the Varnasrma dharma, an eternal religion that a soul must do according to its constitutional duty. The duty, many times described as dharma or following the instructions of the Lord, as given in the Bhagavad Gita is to serve the supreme with love and chant his holy name. Krishna is the almighty and the source of everything. For your peace prosperity and happiness one has to approach this original source directly. Goverdhan worship, respecting the earth on whom we all survive

Respecting cows and bulls, like father and mother

When we know that our survival depends on the fertility and productivity of nature, the soil, the enviromnet, the Earth, then it is for everyone the object of worship. This was one of the arguements Sri Krishna, the Lord put forward to Nanda Maharaj when He appeared on earth personally in Dwaper yug, some five thousand years ago. Thus a tradition of worshiping Goverdhal Hill was established. It is also becasue that hill represents Krsna and Radha ad their pasttimes. During the celebration of this festival, Giverdhan miniature is made of cow dung and worshipped with offerings. Radha Krsna and their associates are invited to reside on that hill. Circumambulating that alone can eliminate the sins and purify your existence. When the Goverdhan hill was worshipped following the instructions of Sri Krisna, the demigod in charge of cilmate Indra got angry and tried to flood it. But Sri Krishna defeated him by lifting the same hill for 7 days and protected the people. Indra surrendered to Krishna.

Goverdhan puja is followed by a series of observations to other objects of worship namely the cow, ox, even dog and crow in additon to human relations, which described in the next post here under. Cow is the most auspicious and gentle animal, a mother and the personification of the mother earth, on whose supplies human beings could survive. This means, the cow dung is the catalyst to multiply the growth of the seeds of grains we show in our fields. The yeild will be biological, the most healthy one. Nowadays people who emphasizes modernisation and mass production process forget the contribution coming from cows. Those not folowing the Vedic culture even kills cows and eats. They immerge in sin, violates natural law. Cows should be treated as the objectof worship, a mother of everyone. During the time of the festival of light, Dipawali, the cows are garlanded and ceremoney to please them performed. This is example was shown by His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami in Ujjain by performing aarati to the cows, see foto.

Bofore worshipping cow, oxens are also worshipped in the same way. Other animals included in the worship are dog and crow. The story goes back to the time of Sri Ram. When Sita was released from the jail of Ravan everyone were delighted and longed to see her coming back to Nepal, Janakpur where she initially appeared. The news of her coming was firstly brought to the villagers by crows. Then the village dogs knew that she is coming and informed their masters. Everybody were happy. As a gesture of thankfullness the dog and crow are also given respectful treatment. Then men went towards the way Sita along with Sri Ram was coming back from Lanka. The women, on their part prepared dishes, mainly a type of round bread and went towards the way all those people went to receive Sita. Then in the next day, the brother sisiter relations celebrated. This tradition is still prevalent in the theistic Nepali families.

As part of the celebrations, ghatasthapana is established and the daily worship according to the Vedic directions is continuing here. On 6th October, the Victory day of Sri Ram will be celebrated signified by the acceptance of the prasad of Durga maa. For this, jamara is growing, a special maize siblins that Durga maa would be pleased with. Accepting the blessing prasad will continue for a week to enable people from far away places also to come together and have the feast joyfully. Its the Vedic tradition that the people visit to their elders and seek the blessings of the Lord Sri Rama and Durga maa through them.

23/2/10 A saintly women from Haridwar, disciple of Satpalji who founded Manav Dharma, Dharani Baiju mataji shared her experiance of self-realization through spiritual wisdom. Addressing the Vedic Cultural house in Boxtel on 20th February, she explained the impersonal aspect of the supreme personality of Goadhead Sri Krishna. She urged that the happiness can be found within, thus one has to look into thier self with the help of a spiritual master. The goal of human lif is to qualify spiritually to go back to the abode of our spiritual father, the Lord Krsna. She asserted that nawadays people are engaged only in eating, mating, sleeping and defending and thus the purpose of human form of life is forgotten. Just like, if you have a car and you put fuel in it but don't drive it to the destination the purpose of buying it is useless.

Devotion to God is the only way for happiness. Baiju mataji explained that one has to look into thier ownself to find God because our nacked eyes can't see Him. Once one starts meditating within self, God manifests into their inner self as 'Light'. She related this to the episode of Mahabarat when the god Krsna showed Arjun the cosmic universal form of God after giving him the ability to see it. Arjun saw then only 'light'she added.

The impersonalist; who thinks that God has no form, or the God cannot be seen through our nacked eyes as human being's form, but more or less as the shining light, are also the devotees of God but in lesser imperfection. This is because the the Dharma of manav- men is to serve God with love. Once one develops devotion to God and seves with loving attitude he will be fixed in trannscendental happiness. If one learns to serve God with love he will love every entities and he will be happy too.

Developing loving servie to God can reach to perfection only when one realizes that God has form, that looks like human form but its spiritual, unborn and eternal. Love can manifest only to forms and not to any formless cosmos. The resident of Vrindavan loves god in perfection and Arjun too. When Arjun saw the cosmic form of Krsna, he was scared and requested Krsna to appear again as the lovely human form. Krsna did it as his devotees wishes.This was the assertion quoting the Bhagavad Gita by prabhu Viswaroop from Rotterdam.This is explained in the Bhagavad Gita chapter 11. But such facts are greatly misinterpreted or misunderstood, possibly due to various commentars of the Bhagavad Gita given by non devotees. The Bhagavad Gita As It Is by Srila Prabhupada is the only authentic one that presents without the commentator's personal influence and is translated into more than 40 langauges. Gautam who organised this program presented one its copy to Baiju mataji requesting to use it in her preaching mission.

About 20 aspirant devotees, many were new to this vedic program attended. With this type of program one could balance the marial wealth with the spiritual tranquility. It is also serving as the peaceful means of the people coming from different background to intigrate with the Dutch society, equipped with the knowledge of other's culture.

Among hundreds of exiled Bhutanese resettled in The Netherlands, only a handful of families are holding fast with their esteemed Vedic culture.

For the first tine in the The Netherlands, TB Chhetri, organised the vedic cultural program. He was a military officer while in Bhutan and here he finds peace and happiness only in preserving and observing Vedic cultural and religious programs and putting them in practice daily. To enhance this ancient tradition, organized in February a sankirtan satsang program in his house. There participated other three families including the members of Vedic Cultural centre- Boxtel.

In the program Dharani Baiji mataji from Manav Dharma explained the reason behind why some people turn towards the God and some turn away. She explained from the Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7 verse 16

catur-vidha bhajante mam

janah sukrtino 'rjuna

arto jijnasur artharthi

jnani ca bharatarsabha

O best among the Bharatas [Arjuna], four kinds of pious men render devotional service unto Me--the distressed, the desirer of wealth, the inquisitive, and he who is searching for knowledge of the Absolute.

PURPORT: Unlike the miscreants, these are adherents of the regulative principles of the scriptures, and they are called sukrtinah, or those who obey the rules and regulations of scriptures, the moral and social laws, and are, more or less, devoted to the Supreme Lord. Out of these there are four classes of men--those who are sometimes distressed, those who are in need of money, those who are sometimes inquisitive, and those who are sometimes searching after knowledge of the Absolute Truth. These persons come to the Supreme Lord for devotional service under different conditions. These are not pure devotees because they have some aspiration to fulfill in exchange for devotional service. Pure devotional service is without aspiration and without desire for material profit. The Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu defines pure devotion thus:

anyabhilasita-sunyam jnana-karmady-anavrtam, anukulyena krsnanu-silanam bhaktir uttama "One should render transcendental loving service to the Supreme Lord Krsna favorably and without desire for material profit or gain through fruitive activities or philosophical speculation. That is called pure devotional service."

When these four kinds of persons come to the Supreme Lord for devotional service and are completely purified by the association of a pure devotee, they also become pure devotees. As far as the miscreants are concerned, for them devotional service is very difficult because their lives are selfish, irregular and without spiritual goals. But even some of them, by chance, when they come in contact with a pure devotee, also become pure devotees.

Those who are always busy with fruitive activities come to the Lord in material distress and at that time associate with pure devotees and become, in their distress, devotees of the Lord. Those who are simply frustrated also come sometimes to associate with the pure devotees and become inquisitive to know about God. Similarly, when the dry philosophers are frustrated in every field of knowledge, they sometimes want to learn of God, and they come to the Supreme Lord to render devotional service and thus transcend knowledge of the impersonal Brahman and the localized Paramatma and come to the personal conception of Godhead by the grace of the Supreme Lord or His pure devotee.

On the whole, when the distressed, the inquisitive, the seekers of knowledge, and those who are in need of money are free from all material desires, and when they fully understand that material remuneration has nothing to do with spiritual improvement, they become pure devotees. As long as such a purified stage is not attained, devotees in transcendental service to the Lord are tainted with fruitive activities, and they search after mundane knowledge, etc. So one has to transcend all this before one can come to the stage of pure devotional service. 'Become a human before becoming a Hindu, Moslim, Christian, Buddhist or whatever you like', is the key message of the cult widely known as Manav Dharma. The founder of this cult's son Vibhu maharaj gave a lecture on the dynamic of mind to his followers in Amstelveen on 17th July for the first time in The Netherlands. There was a gathering of about fifty people mostly from Indian, Bhutanese and Nepalese cultural background.

Mind is the force that, if not in control, is an enemy of the self and when in control and engaged in the devotional service of the supreme, it is then the best friend of the self. This has been explained to Arjun by Sri Krishna about five thousand years ago when he descended on earth and retold the Bhagavad Gita. Mind cannot me suppressed, see chapter 6 verse 5-12, but it can be engaged in the devotional service so that the individuals does not have to suffer the bad reactions of the deeds undertaken. This process is expounded also in the Naamhat centers of ISKCON. Bhagavad Gita As It Is, the most worldwide recognized edition explained and published in more than 80 languages by Srila Prabhupada was presented to Vibhu ji and he liked that so much. Vibhu and his followers are good in keeping the Vedic cultural standards and performed dances and devotional songs. Also vegetarian meal was served. Vedic culture is indeed a means for anyone to come closer to each other despite any differences.

The next day in Utrecht the same type of program was held in the house of a resettled Bhutanese DB Budathoki. Members of six families altogether performed the sankirtan program that was very interesting and meaningful. Despite some divisions created by the founding leaders of the Bhutanese community in The Netherlands namely LP Dhakal and Ram Karki, due to their politically motivated ideologies and intolerance to ambiguities and the untransparent financial administration, Bhutanese here are gradually stepping into unity, as a result of the Vedic cultural programs organised every 3rd Saturdays since 2002 in the Naamhat Boxtel. It has been encouraging since 2002 to all to come together and maintain the Vedic culture they all originally belong to and reintegrate in the Dutch society with their own social values to offer. Long awaited blessings has been recevied today. The mercy of Sri Guru Maharaj His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami was showered on 15th July 2010 during his traveling preaching mission to Belgium. On the way from Rotterdam Audaryadhaam he kindly blessed the Naamhat Boxtel. With him followed about twenty devotees. It was very much transcendentally ecstatic moment in life.

There is no limit of joy in the association of such a holy person who is dedicated to world peace through the love in Krsna Consciousness.

In the presence of Sri Guru Maharaj, Brahma Samihita was recited. He then stressed to make use of the morning hours for the siritual development because the morning period bestows the influence of the mode of goodness. The most important to do is to get up early and chant the mahamantra- Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

His Holiness has dedicated his life in spreading the sanatan dharma- the Krsna consciousness and revive the forgotten vedic culture that embraces love and understanding with the concept that all sentient beings are part and parcel of the supreme and its proper function and happiness lies in being connected with the supreme with the favourable loving service. Once the part is disconnected from the whole, ie the present condition of the material life, it has no meaning, just like if a knot bolt of an engine is separated from the engine it owe no value. The value of life is in being connected with the supreme whole ie Krsna because He is all pervading omnicient creator.

His Holiness stressed to help others in distress and the best help one can offer is the Krsna consciousness.

Sri Guru Maharaj did arati to the deities, Sri Jaganath, Baladev, Subhadra and Sr Sri Radhamadanamohan, Gauranitai Narayan and to the Saligram that has been received from my family tradition. Their Lordship Sri Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra Devi went by a decorated car from Naamhat Boxtel to Eindhoven to grace His mercy to everyone on the streets. They were mounted on a rath that was decorated with flowers by a team of matajis led by Indu from Utrecht. It looked like a celestial vehicle which was pulled by about a hundred devotees from different nationalities, across the city, and placed at the hear of the city where cultural programs and prasad was served till the evening. The prasad was cooked by Gupta prabhu and Marlein mataji at Kala mataji 's house. It was so delicious and sufficient for the entire visitors and some could also take it to their homes. Every aspect of this festival was organised by Sundari Priya mataji (foto below) for the last five years consecutively. She also runs Naamhat in Eindhoven.

Their Lordship was very wonderfully decorated with new outfits and jewels offered by Vijaya Govinda prabhu. Sri Jagannath looked very glamorous in the rath and radiated the sense of munificiency. 'Sri Baladev was radiating the mood of satisfaction and Sri Subhadradevi fully contend' said Vijaya Govinda later in the evening when their Lordship was brought back to their residence in Naamhat Boxtel.

Ratha yatra, the most ancient Vedic cultural festival, embraces everyone because the Lord Krishna is the center of attraction. The Lord comes out in this event to the level of the public and graces His mercy to everybody whoever comes along the procession. There is no distinction as every living entitities are the part and parcel of the God.

In almost all the big cities of The Netherlands Rathayatra are held every year by the disciples of His Divine Grace, Jagat Guru AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada who brought this culture to the Western countries in the late 20th century. It is out of his kindness and munificiency that the people of entire world could eleviate themselves to the higher consciousness and make their life meaningful and happy. One has to come out of their getto and take the advantage so that one can understand the trancendental nature.

In zijn toespraak van het eerste Rathayatra van Eindhoven vertelde de burgemeester dat: de Hare Krishna mensen vormen een belangrijke kring waarin eideren is welkom. Wij streven er naar de vrede en spiritualiteit van alle mensen.

Voor de vijfde keer maakt Eindhoven op 3 september weer een stukje kleurrijk Indian Vedischecultuur mee. Er trekt een vrolijke stoet door de stad, vol zingende en dansende mensen. Rinkelende bellen, tromgeroffel, wierook en een wagen met daarop de beeldgedaantenis van Jaganatha, de Heer van het Universum.

Loop een stukje mee en proef de sfeer en een van de vele lekkernijen die onderweg worden uitgedeeld. De optocht eindigt in het centrum, met dans en muziek en voor iedereen een gratis vegetarische maaltijd.

Iedereen is welkom, ongeacht afkomst of geloof!

Sri Krishna Janmastami will be celebrated throughout the world on 22nd August.

Naamhat Boxtel will also celebrate the Janmastami on 22nd August in place of its regular every 3rd Saturday naamhat cultural program.

A grand observations will take place in all the ISKCON centers in Holland and Belgium.

Every year many pilgrims come to Radhadesh to celebrate this festival. Since the calendar date of this festival falls on a Monday, we still wanted to give everyone the opportunity to share in the powerful blessings Lord Krishna gives on this most auspicious occasion. Therefore we have organised a cultural celebration on Sunday, 21 August 2011. Dance, theatre and lots of bhajans (devotional melodious meditation) and association with many devotees from all over the Benelux will make this day a joyous spiritual outing for the whole family. Rathayatra- another cultural event for all

On 6th August there was grand Rathayatra in Koln Germany. Thousands of people gathered including His Holiness Radhanath Swami, Bhakti Caru Swami and Sachidanandanswami and Kadambakanana Swami. There was also a nice devotee famly from Nepal who was married with a German devotee mataji, rare to see in such events although there are many many Nepalese in Germany.

The next Rathayatra will be held in Amsterdam on 14th August and the last for this year will be in Eindhoven on 3rd September. Everyone is warmly welcomed to attend this cultural event. see some rathayatra videos here:

Who will ever bother to enquire about your health, well-being and happiness? Its only the spiritually enlightened person does that to everyone, and that enquiry is the first thing you hear from His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami Maharaj at the beginning of every spiritual retreats.

This year at Radhadesh in Belgium an spiritual retreat was held though out the first week of August '11 headed by His Holiness. He really bothers for every one's happiness and the progress towards attaining the goal of the human form of life. There were more than two hundred devotees from European countries, mostly from Holland, England and Belgium. Many also came from Italy, Germany, Spain and South Africa. Sri Guru Maharaj in every morning session explained the lessons on Siksastakam- the precepts of education and then retold the Mahabharat, the epic of great India. This epic provides the basic of understanding the supreme lord Sri Krishna in which event the Lord retold Bhagavad Gita to Arjun.

The day begins early with managal arati in the temple and then followed by chanting the holy name of the Lord: Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare. In the sphere time , Guru Maharaj enquired the well-beings of the devotees and gave solutions to the problems. Next year's retreat is likely to be in a kruise or an island.

Yagya the fire ceremony sacrifice was performed in the Naamhat Boxtel on 28th July. This ceremoney is the sublime method to invoke natural balance in the local environment and purify the existence.

In The Bhagavad Gita the Lord declared thus: It uis I who am the ritual, I the sacrifice, the offering to the ancestors, the healing herb, the transcendental chant. I am the butter and the fire and the offering. Chapter 9, verse 14. This yagya was perfomed in ultimate sense to please the creator of all existence.

One has to understand ultimately that everything is under the controll of the supreme, the God, the creator. Therefore all the human beings are indebted to the supreme controller for their existence just like we are indebted to the suplying agents of water, electricity, gas etc appointed by the governement of every state. One has to pay the bill so that the government will be please with and continues the necessary supply. In reality the ultimate supplier of every ingredients that state has, is the creator Himself, so He would be pleased by performing sacrifices as mentioned in the Vedic scriptures. One such sacrifice is called fire sacrifice in which food grains with butter is offered unto the ceremnial fire. Every living beings' existence depends on vegetation- the food grains for people and enimals for example, and that is supplied in absolute terms by the supreme Lord, as mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita 10.8. So, as gesture of gratitude, or in other words, as we pay the bills to the energy department for the consumption of the one's energy one also has to pay back to the Lord for the supply of all the life giving elements so that there will be adequate supply of the necessities all the time and peace on earth will prevail.

The secondary intention to organise such sacrifce was to seek peace and welbeings of all the people of any background. A brahmana pujari from Tirupati, South India, Rohitdas prabhu came to Naamhat Boxtel and we took the opportunity to fulfill the human obligation to the absolute as well as to all the fellow beings.

Mataji/ Afganistan

Op 16 juli was er nog wat bijzonder vedische cultureelprogramma gehad. Er was een mataji uit Afganistan, een uit Nepal en en man uit Brabant die voor het eerste keer mee heben gemaakt. Ze waren zeer tevreden met het programma en de Vedische kennins verzorgd uit de Bhagavatam door Visvaroop prabhu uit Rotterdam. Het gaat om het hogere bewustzijn te ontwikkelen. De lezing was over het transmigratie van de ziel naar de verschillende lichaamen en hoe dat gebeurt.

Leef gemeenschap met drie nieuw leden

De mataji uit Afganitan en ander Belgische toegewijda Krsna Prema mataji hebben heel mooie kleding gemaakt voor de Heer Jaganath, Baladev en Subadra devi. Dit is inderdaad een dienst aan God.

Eerste keer/ uit Brabant, Nepal en Afganitan

Het volgende progrgamma is op 20 augustus, de 3e zaterdag van de maand. Voordat wordt er Rathayatra in Amsterdam op 14 augustus en dan in Koln. Er wordt spirituele retreat in Radhadesh vanaf 1 augustus met Bhakti Caru Swami. Er wordt een associatie van meer dan 200 toegewijden.

In this respect the individual irrespective of their background who opt the Vedic culture that promotes the practice of the higher consciousness in the loving service of the Lord come together. Such a group of people mainly the forerunner of the Krishna temple in The Hague under the guidance of Srila Prabhupada, Shyam Sundar prabhu and his pious family members are chosen to build a temple in the The Hague which will eventually become the biggest one in Europe. The Dutch government has kindly gave the permission and demarcated a piece of land where a Sikh Gurudwar and a temple for the followers of Arya Samaj will be built connecting each other.

During the Rathayatra the parade passed across the place where the temple will be built. This is was also an event in which the Lord Sri Jagannath surveyed the area. There were thousands of people gathered and walked across the city pulling the rope of the parade. This type of Vedic cultural festival promotes peace on earth because everyone is welcome to the procession. At the end there's usually grand vegetarian feast freely served as the mercy of the Lord. One simple has to take the advantage of this type of spiritual event and in order to elevate themselves to higher consciousness. But not many would turn up owing to their lack of proper pure intelligence. They remain in the materialistic entanglement.

The temple however will be built by the devotees and friends of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness is in fact belongs to everyone. Sri Jaganath, Baladev ad Subhadra Devi, their Lordship travelled to Rotterdam on 26th June for the Rathayatra and came back to Naamhat Boxtel very cheerfully. They looked extremely cheerful.

The Rathayatra was organised by Narayani Devidasi, the poineer devotee in starting Audardhaam temple in Rotterdam. This temple is being run by her initiatives and financial strength however a group of other aspirant devotees also ender service.

Early in the morning of the Rathayatra day Sri Jagantha with Baladev and Subhadra were juvilent with new garlands and set on a car driven by Sundar Gopal and Robi prabhu. They came back three days later, also in a satisfied mode. They were sweating a bit and we fanned them, cooled them with Ganga water and dressed with with new outfits.

Sri Jaganath is the supreme lord Vishnu and Baladev as the Anantasesh and Subhadra- the Durga Devi as understood in the Satya yuga realm. He is Krishna the origin of everything. It is His mercy that He appears among us in that form, which is transcendental and spiritual in a receptive mode to welcome everyone irrespective of any background.

Thier Lords at the Rath in Rotterdam

It is the mercy of Srila Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness who introduced Ratha yatra festival in the Western countries for the first time. This form of the Lord appeared in India millions of years ago and the yatra prominently began after the war of Kuruchhetra. Anyone whoever takes part in this pastimes of the Lord will develop higher spiritual consciousness that will qualify one to get liberation, which means to back to the kingdom of God so that one doesn't have to suffer in the cycle of birth, aging, disease and death.

Vedic cultural programs to come up on TV

The contribution to peace and social cultural harmony by the Vedic cultural center in Boxtel, The Netherlands is gradually being recognized by the state media.

On the day of the regular cultural program on 16th April a TV crew from the local Omroep Brabant came for a two hours filming spree. They visited earlier also and watched the activities. They found it worthy for a TV serial the company has started with the title 'Nondeju', the spirituality of the faiths. The producer team with the presentator Ms. Maud Hawinkels were exited to reveal the fact through interviews with the participants how the Krsna consciousness can help society maintain peace, promote universal brother/sisterhood, attain happiness in the family and help keep the environment pure.

The prominent Dutch sadhu in the renounced order of life Janakidas explained the key methods as answers to the above questions and assured that Naamhat centers, the localized branches of ISKCON dedicated to facilitate the learning of the Vedic wisdom provides with the achievable methods. During the program ulasi arati was performed by the children and offering was made to the Lord Jagannath, Baladev Subhadra and Sri Radha Madanamohan and Gaura Nitai, and it was also filmed. The idea is to make realize that everything upon which we depend for the daily survival is created by the Lord and He should be credited for His satisfaction. Should men do overlord themselves with the material provisions without accrediting to the Lord who actually own everything they will be treated as thieves, according to Bhagavad Gita, and therefore will be in anxiety and chaos- as punishment. But by offering one's result of the work to the Lord, there will be no reactions.

Bhagavad Gita As It Is course turned the participant's life into spiritual happiness.

The Bhagavad Gita course is something unique that fortunate people gets attracted to learn the transcendental wisdom and take this positively. The absolute truth is that every action has equal and opposite reaction. However men indulge whimsically whose acts are called akarma that repels reaction. The other acts which are forbidden, yet people indulge out of ignorance and arrogance is vikarma result of which there is no peace in the families and in the world at large.

One has to know the methods of acting as given in the Vedic literature. This Namhat provides this type of wisdom from which people can be happy. Its a educational movement for the world peace undertaken with the wisdom promulgated by Srila Prabhupada. Naamhat Boxtel komt op de TV

Onze bijdrage aan het instandhouding van de sociale vredzame multucultureel maatschappij is erkend door de lokale media- Omroep Brabant.

Een filmploeg van Omroep Brabant heeft zaterdag 16 april opnames gemaakt bij het Vedische cultureelprogramma in Boxtel. De ploeg heeft ook onze regulier bezoeker Joke en Ramapati Dasa (Rien) gefilmd. Ze zijn bezig met het ontwikkelen van het hogere bewustzijn. Presentatrice Maud Hawinkels wilde weten wat 'Krishna bewustzijn' is en natuurlijk liet Joke de schilderijen zien die ze aan Krishna heeft gewijd.

De opnames zijn voor 'Nondeju!', een serie over religie en spiritualiteit die elke dinsdagavond op Omroep Brabant te zien is. Joke, Ramapati Dasa en het Vedische cultureelprogramma uit Boxtel zullen te zien zijn in de aflevering die op 7 juni wordt uitgezonden.

Tijdens de opname in dit Naamhat waren er mensen uit verschillende culturen, landen en kleuren zich aanwezig.

I will celebrate my birthday in the Vedic ways

I am going to celebrate my 14th birthday in a Vedic cultural way.

I will begin the day early on 19th February and will serve the supreme personality of Godhead Radha Krsna by performing abhisekh ceremoney. Then follows the offerings of various vegetarian bhogam to the deity form of the Lord in this Naamhat temple and then sweet arati will be performed.

In the afternoon people with various background will start coming to the Naamhat Program in Boxtel. This place, although equal in size and population of the capital city of Bhutan where I was born and then exiled, it is inhabited by 85 different nationalities. Vedic cultural programs organized every third Saturdays of the month will naturally embrace with love everyone willing to participate in this cultural activities. Many friends will be invited from all cultures, faiths and the nationalities and the real event will take place from 17 hrs onwards. But before that a Bhagavad Gita study course will take place among the interested devotees under the guidance of a devotee grihasta sadhu.

In the evening there will be feast of prasadam and transcendental music. Everyone of you are warmly welcomed. The birthday cake will be first offered to the Lord Krsna because everything on which we are living originally produced by the Lord Him self and so the Lord must have the first share. In elke maand zijn er twee Ekadasi. Ekadasi betekent letterlijk de 11e van de dag voor volle maan en nieuwe maan. Deze dag is ook als een Madhava tithi genoemd, de favorite dag van de Heer Krishna.

Om Ekadasi volledig na te leven, zoals Ambarisha Maharaja dat deed, is erg zeldzaam. We zouden het zo moeten proberen te doen, maar worden beïnvloedt door dit huidige tijdperk, Kali-yuga.

Maharaja Ambarisha leefde in Satya-yuga, en hij was zo sterk dat hij een jaar lang zou hebben kunnen vasten zonder te slapen, terwijl hij op één been zou staan, zonder water te drinken of zelfs maar adem te halen. In Kali-yuga zijn we echter noch sterk noch vergevorderd; maar we zijn toch fortuinlijk. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu heeft uitgelegd dat als we hongerig zijn op Ekadasi, we wat fruit, sap of melk mogen nemen. We dienen niet voortdurend te eten. Het is niet zo dat we een liter van een bepaalde soort sap drinken, en een half uur later weer een ander soort sap nemen, om daarna binnen een half uur weer gekookte aardappelen met groenten te nemen. Dan, na een half uur weer een groot glas water, een pond panir met suiker, en vervolgens nog een halve liter rabari. We dienen alleen zoveel te eten als nodig is om slaap en luiheid te verminderen.

Eigenlijk moeten we dag en nacht wakker blijven en de volledige Ekadasi dag doorbrengen door te chanten en het herinneren van Sri Krishna, net zoals Ambarisha Maharaja dat deed. Hij was de keizer van de hele wereld, zat in het gezinsleven en was ogenschijnlijk verstrikt in materiële gehechtheden. Durvasa Muni was een brahmana en een gerealiseerde yogi. Hij kon zo iemand tot sterven vervloeken, of een dode man weer terug tot leven brengen. Hij was een brahmarishi, een brahmavadi met grote machten. Hij dacht: “Ik ben in een brahmanafamilie geboren en zit in de dynastie van Shankara (Shiva). Ik ben een manifestatie van Shankara, de zoon van Atri en Anusaya, die hooggeleerdeuttama-bhakta Vaishnavas zijn. Mijn ouders hebben Sita-devi, die Lakshmi Zelf is, zoveel geleerd toen Zij samen met Rama de hut van mijn ouders bezochten. Ik ben de grootste en meest machtige persoon in deze wereld; ik kan in één tel alles voor elkaar krijgen.” Echter, Durvasa had nooit Ekadasi gevolgd.

Op een dag, in zijn paleis te Madhuvana, Mathura, was Ambarisha Maharaja maha-dvadasiaan het vieren door noch te drinken, noch te slapen. Hij was de hele dag en nacht volledig in beslag genomen met het chanten, herinneren, het dienen van de Deities en het bidden tot de Heer. De volgende ochtend, nadat hij Sri Krishna had aanbeden en hij bijna klaar was om zijn vasten te breken, kwam Durvasa Muni bij zijn paleis aan.

Durvasa was als een god, een gerealiseerde brahmavadi, maar hij had zich nog nooit aan Ekadasi gehouden. Ambarisha Maharaja verzocht hem om Ekadasi te breken door maha-dvadasi parana te nemen, waarna hij zelf dan prasada zou eren. Durvasa Muni antwoordde, “Oké, maar eerst ga ik hier in de buurt een bad nemen in de Yamuna. Ik blijf niet lang weg.”

Hij bleef echter zo lang weg, dat er slechts een paar minuten over waren voordat de gunstige tijd om het vasten te breken voorbij was. Ambarisha Maharaja vroeg zich af wat hij nu moest doen. Hij dacht, “Een brahmana-rsi, eensiddha-yogi is aan mijn deur gekomen. Hij is geen gewone man. Ik dien hem te respecteren door hem eerst maha-prasada aan te bieden voordat ik zelf wat neem. Anders zal ik de Vedische cultuur veronachtzamen en zal ik mogelijk naar de hel gaan. Aan de andere kant moet ik me ook aan mijn Ekadasi-vrata houden, welke geen wereldse activiteit is. Het is transcendentaal, en ik niet in slaag om het in acht te nemen door op het juiste tijdstip maha-prasada te eren, kan ik mijn bhakti kwijt raken. Moet ik deze brahmana eren, of moet ik bhakti eren?”

Na zijn opties zorgvuldig te hebben overwogen koos hij ervoor om bhakti te eren. “Ik kan op geen enkele manier tegenbhakti ingaan, zelfs als dat betekent dat ik wat materiële welvaart verlies of naar de hel ga. Ik zal Ekadasi niet oneerbiedig zijn; ik zal het breken binnen de vastgestelde tijd.” Toen nam hij een druppel water die was gebruikt om Krishna te aanbidden (caranamrita).

Als men Ekadasi volgt zonder sap of water te nemen kan men het vasten breken door caranamrita te nemen, maar als men water, fruit, sap, melk of groenten heeft genomen dient men te breken door wat graan te nemen; anders is diensEkadasi niet afgerond.

Ambarisha Maharaja dacht, “Ik heb zelfs geen water gedronken tijdens mijn naleving van Ekadasi, dus kan ikcaranamrita nemen. Op deze manier zal ik ook de brahmanarespecteren, omdat ik dan geen granen zal heb genomen.”

Nadat hij een druppel caranamrita had genomen kwam Durvasa terug. “Ik ken jou”, schreeuwde hij. “Jij bent slechts een zogenaamde bhakta. Ik ben een siddha (perfecte mysticus) brahmana. Je kent mijn afkomst. Je weet van mijn grote krachten en toch heb je het gedurfd om te onteren. Ik zal je onmiddellijk tot as verbranden.”

Hij nam een dreadlock van zijn haar, smeet het op de grond en beval het om een brandend vuur te worden. De vuurdemon rende toen op Ambarisha Maharaja af in een poging hem tot as te verbranden. Op dat moment verscheen de Sudarshana Chakra daar.Sri Krishna had Zijn chakra bevolen om altijd de Vaishnavas te beschermen, degenen die hun beschutting bij Hem hebben gezocht, dus verbrandde Sudarshana de vuurdemon tot as en richtte zich toen tot Durvasa rsi, die ‘zijn benen op zijn hoofd nemend’* wegvluchtte. Toen schreeuwde Durvasa rsi het uit: “Red me! Red me! Red me!”

Toen de vuurdemon op Ambarisha Maharaja afging was de koning aan het chanten en was onbevreesd. Hij dacht, “Of ik zal leven of sterven hangt af van Sri Krishna.” Hij vertrouwde volledig op Sri Krishna, en Sudarshana Chakra redde hem. Durvasa Muni daarentegen vreesde de dood en vluchtte, ook al was hij een machtige brahmana en gerealiseerde yogi. Eerst probeerde hij beschutting te zoeken bij zijn vader, Heer Shiva; maar toen hij hem aan zag komen riep hij naar hem, “Kom niet hierheen. Scheer je weg! Ik weet waarom je aan het rennen bent. Je zit in deze netelige situatie omdat je een Vaishnava zonder eerbied hebt bejegend. Ik weet hoe invloedrijk Vaishnavas zijn en ik ben bang om overtredingen tegen ze te begaan. Als ik je beschutting geef zal Sudarshana mij ook aanvallen.”

Toen ging Durvasa Muni naar Heer Brahma, die ook weigerde hem te helpen. Daarna benaderde hij Heer Vishnu en bad, “O Vishnu! O Vishnu! Red mevan Uw wapen. Ik neem mijn toevlucht tot U.”

Heer Vishnu zei, “Ik ben niet bij machte om je te helpen. Ik bezit geen vrijheid. Ik ben gebonden aan Mijn bhaktas. Zij hebben Mij hun hart gegeven, en ik heb het Mijne aan hun gegeven. Ik ben op geen enkele manier onafhankelijk van Mijn toegewijden.”

[“De Allerhoogste Persoonlijkheid Gods zei tegen de brahmana: “Ik wordt volledig gecontroIeerd door Mijn toegewijden. Wat heet, Ik ben helemaal niet onafhankelijk. Omdat Mijn toegewijden volledig verstoken zijn van materiële verlangens, zit Ik alleen binnenin de kernen van hun harten. Wat te zeggen van Mijn toegewijde, zelfs de toegewijden van Mijn toegewijde zijn Me erg dierbaar.” [Srimad-Bhagavatam, 9.4.63]

Als iemand een doorn in zijn voet krijgt kan die doorn niet via het hoofd worden verwijderd. Hij moet uit die voet worden gehaald. Zo zegt Heer Vishnu dus eigenlijk, “De Vaishnavas zijn alles voor Me. Het is Mijn gelofte dat Ik ze zal beschermen. Als je gered wilt worden moet je onmiddellijk naar Ambarisha Maharaja gaan. Zie hem niet als een gezinshoofd of een doodgewone ksatriya koning. Denk niet, ‘Oh hij stelt niks voor.’ Hij is Mijn hart. Breng hem je eerbetuigingen.”

Wereldse mensen neigen ernaar om te denken, “Ik ben zo geleerd, rijk en machtig. Deze zogenaamde Vaishnavas zijn nutteloos en chanten alleen maar ‘Hare Krishna’ terwijl ze niets waardevols doen.” Gedraag je niet zoals hun, maar wordt liever een echte, oprechte Vaishnava, dan zal Krishna je beschermen en je Krishna-prema geven.

Op het bevel van de Heer keerde Durvasa Rsi onmiddellijk terug naar Ambarisha Maharaja en smeekte hem, “Red me alstublieft van de Sudarshana Chakra. Zijn hitte is me aan het verbranden.” Ambarisha bad toen, “O Prabhu, O Heer, als ik ooit toegewijde dienst tot Sri Krishna heb gedaan, red dan alstublieft deze brahmana.” Onmiddellijk nadat hij deze woorden had uitgesproken koelde de Sudarshana Chakra af en keerde terug naar Heer Vishnu.

Vanaf de tijd dat Durvasa Rsi op de vlucht was geslagen voor het wapen van de Heer een jaar terug, had Ambarisha Maharaja nog steeds niets gegeten. Desondanks verontschuldigde de koning zich tegenover Durvasa met grote nederigheid toen deze uiteindelijk weer voor hem verscheen. Hij zei, “Ik ben niets— Ik ben geen toegewijde. Ik heb u verwaarloosd en onteerd door mijn vasten te breken.” Durvasa Muni viel plat neer aan de lotusvoeten van Ambarisha Maharaja, die hem omhelsde.

Ambarisha Maharaja vroeg hem genadig te zijn en maha-prasada te eren. Durvasa maakte toen zijn nieuwe realisatie kenbaar dat bhaktas nog machtiger zijn dan Krishna Zelf. Krishna heeft al Zijn macht aan de Vaishnavas gegeven, maar zij verbergen dit en ‘bedriegen’ anderen door zich voor te doen als gevallen personen. Trinad api sunicena. Hoewel ze extreem machtig zijn, zijn ze ook zachtmoedig en nederig, gul en beleefd.

Vervolgens nam Durvasa Rsi met alle plezier maha-prasada, waarna Ambarisha Maharaja en zijn hele familie ookmaha-prasada eerden.

Wees dus zo: nederig, met een sterk geloof in toegewijde dienst tot Sri Krishna en Ekadasi. We kunnen onze hoofden, levens en zielen geven om Ekadasi na te leven. Ekadasi zal ons beschermen, want ze is de moeder van prema-bhakti.

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura heeft geschreven: madhava tithi bhakti janani jatane palana kori. Ekadasi is madhava-tithi, Krishna Zelf. Heilige dagen zoals Ekadasi zijn bhakti janani, de moeder van prema-bhakti. We zouden moeten proberen het zo zuiver mogelijk te volgen, door gedurende de dag niet vele malen te eten en drinken.

Probeer, indien mogelijk, om het na te leven zonder zelfs ook maar water te drinken (nirjala), of neem slechts één keer een klein beetje prasada op die dag als dit niet mogelijk is. Veel oude mensen die mager en dun zijn kunnen nirjalaEkadasi volgen, dus waarom niet degenen van jullie die jong en sterk zijn? Probeer het op deze manier na te leven. Als je echter door zo te vasten hoofdpijn krijgt en je daarom gaat slapen, wat is dan het nut? Probeer om Krishna te herinneren, associeer met Vaishnavas, lees de Vedische geschriften en zeg dag en nacht gebeden op.

Een zo’n gebed luidt:

he krsna karuna sindhu
dina bandho jagat pate
gopesa gopika kanta
radha kanta namo ‘stu te

“Ik bied U mijn oneindige eerbetuigingen aan, O Krishna! U bent de oceaan van genade, Vriend van de gevallen zielen, Heer der schepping en Meester van de koeienhoeders gemeenschap. U bent Gopi-kanta, geliefde van de gopis, en bovenal bent U Radha-kanta, de geliefde van Srimati Radhika!”

Het in acht nemen van Ekadasi geeft zelfs meer spirituele kracht dan brahma-jnana (de realisatie dat het spirituele gescheiden is van het materiële) en brahma-yoga-samadhi(opgaan in het onpersoonlijke aspect van God).

His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami Maharaj, one of the most prominent world spiritual leader dedicated to building peace and universal brotherhood, began his dear most projects, that is to establish a school in Ujjain that gives spiritual and modern education in the international standard.

He consecrated the land right in front of the Ujjain temple where a big school will be established soon. Then in course of time the same school will develop into a university with boarding facilities and that will be located in the area where Lord Sri Krsna, Balaram and Their friends under the tutelage of Sri Sandhipani Muni studied about five thousand years ago.

Maharaj bought this land with high price for this purpose. During the consecration ceremony for the foundation of the school building, many devotees wee present. Liberation through Vedic wisdom was the focus

All human beings has the potential to liberate themselves from the cycle of enforced birth, aging, disease and death. Liberation is possible through learning about self, the original identity and developing the loving relations to the original supreme. For that purpose the learning the process revealed in the Vidic literature is necessary. Facilitating this process of learning, the Bhagavad Gita course held on 22nd January, in its second day, focussed on understanding the self- jiva and the related process. Here under a summary is given:

The Jiva (living entity), conditions – liberation - process

One who acts in Krsna consciousness, or acts inknowledge that aham brahmasmi is of course liberated from the very beginning;and the action itself, which is performed as a sacrifice for Krsna or Visnu, isitself the purifying process, purifying the consciousness of all the dirtythings accumulated for millions and millions of births.

The process ofdevotional service after one is liberated from the material conditions.Therefore bhakti-yoga includes jnana-yoga.

The conditioned souls must try to follow the processof yajna by becoming Krsna conscious.

Jiva

When a jiva tattvabecomes specifically empowered by the Lord, he is called saktyavesa avatara.Lord Buddha and Lord Jesus Christ were in this group of saktyavesa avatara..

The distinctionbetween Supersoul and individual.

The Supersoul neverwill fall under the clutches of this illusory maya and the jiva soul has thistendency. So there is distinction, yet, the two, Supersoul and jiva.

The Soul is as thesunlight and the Sun are qualitatively the same.

Perfectionof living entity.

When the jiva soulaccepts the dictates of the Supreme consciousness Supersoul, only for thepurpose of gratifying the senses of Krishna. This attitude of service is theperfection of the living entity. The individual soul is called as Krsna’smarginal energy.

Thecondition of the soul.

It is hisconsciousness that becomes absorbed in trying to enjoy the matter. Out ofdesire to lord it over, the jiva soul forgets that he is eternal, full ofknowledge and full of bliss and identifies with the material energy. So it isthe consciousness of the conditioned soul that is affected.

It is his determinationto become Krsna Conscious that become weak or strong. By the influence of themodes of passion and ignorance he becomes weak and by the influence of the modeof goodness he becomes strong. But by the association with the pure devotee hebecomes strongest.

The conditionedsoul, subjected to four defects.

Lord Brahma is aconditioned soul means that due to his desire to become the creator of the material manifestationhe had to take birth within the material world.

He has writtenBrahma-samhita which is pure Vaisnava literature describing the SupremePersonality of godhead.

The identification of Jiva.

Sri CaitanyaMahaprabhu gives the identification of jiva soul as the eternal servant of Krsnaand is situated as marginal potency of the Lord based on the philosophy of acintya-bhedabheda-tattva.

As spirit soul oridentical brahma, or jiva brahma is identical with the Supreme Brahma or theparam brahma. In this sense jiva soul is abheda or non-different from the parambrahma.

But on account ofthe param brahma being the supreme, the biggest, the identical brahma or jivabrahma being very minute, it is different from the param brahma.

The Jiva in thebody.

There is the jivain this body, but there are also jivas within the cells. Just like I am livingwithin this apartment, but does it means that no other living entity can livehere. There are so many ants, flies, bugs, they are also living within theapartment. Even in stool there are thousands of living entities.

Fact is that eachand every living entity is covered by two kinds of bodies, one subtle and onegross. So the subtle body causes the living entity to take another gross body.

The beginning ofhis fall down.

In theBhagavad-gita it is directly said that the mind is inferior energy in a subtleform, and soul, jiva, is superior energy.

When the soul becomes captivatedfor enjoying the material world instead of rendering service toKrsna, that is thebeginning of his fall down. When the living being thinks himself to bethe enjoyer, that is called false ego. His constitutional position is to serveKrsna. So this falseegotism degrades him to pollute the intelligence and the mind.

The mind andintelligence of the soul.

These are alreadythere in the soul, but in the conditional stage the same mind and intelligencebecome polluted as false egotism or enjoyer. The bhakti process is to purifyeverything.

The mind.

If the mind ispurified, then things go on nicely in its original position.

If the mind isdirectly engaged at the lotus feet of Krsna, the senses automatically becomeengaged in Krsna’s service; and that is the liberated stage. Chanting of theHare Krsna mantra is the direct process for curing the mind of allmaterialistic contamination. Take to this process and be happy, Hare Krsna.

Satsang/sankirtan yagya

'Sankirtan of Satsang is iets dat ik in Nederland hard heb gezogd' zie een Bhutaanse afkomstige toegewijda- zonder deze gelegenheid heb ik geen gelukkige gevoel. Zij kwam uit een stroom die als een Manava Dharma genoemd. Zij ziet geen verschill tuseen de vaisnava traditie van sankirtanan yagya- een zuiveringsprocess en het onwikkeling van het hogere bewustzijn. Een andere nieuwe bezoekers voor het december Naamhat programma waren twee jongens uit Nepal. Ze vonden deze als een bijzonderedag, een thuisgevoel.

Ondanks het slechte weer was deze Vedische programma van 19 december gewoon doorgegaan met de transcendentale, muziek en vegetarischemaaltijd. Een belangrijke verse uit de Bhagavad Gita Zoals Ze Is, hoofdstuk 3 was uitgelegd waarin staat aangeven dat men moeten Yagya doen voor de voorzieningen ze het van de natuur mogen krijgen. Een het beste yagya is de sankirtana yagya waardoor de eigenaar van de hele schepping wordt tevreden gesteld. Door Zijn tevredenheid wordt deze werld vredzaam en kan de mensen geluk ervaren.

'Sankirtan or Satsang is something I have been looking for and without this I won't feel homely here in The Netherland' said an elderely devotee from Bhutan who came here through a forcible migration. Happiness lies in this; she claims and sees that through congregational observance of our Vedic culture one can develop higher consciousness thereby deriving happiness and satisfaction. This will eventually lead one to God realization and the goal of the human form of life will be fulfilled. Along with her came also two new visitors for the Vedic program of 19 December 2010 in this Naamhat Center that has been organising Vedic cultural programs that include bhajan kirtan, reading Bhagavad Gita As It Is and traditional music and discussions. It also focuses in promoting vegetarianism. Those two Nepalese were surprised to find their culture nicely observed in this center and took part actively.

Third chapter of of the Bhagavad Gita As It Is was opened for discussion where the Lord Sri Krishna spells out the importance of performing yagya. Through the yagya the demigods- devata responsible for the natural system management will be satisfied and ultimately the God too, just like when we pay the energy bills, the energy supply department of the state will be satisfied and the beneficactor will be treated by the state as the best citizen. In the same way by doing sankirtan, that is by chanting in group the mahamantra Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare will make complete the recommended congregational glorification of the Lord and that act will develop higher consciousness in men and help them be happy on earth. Het gezamenlijke studie van de Bhagavad Gita Zoals ze is, was zeer intersant en behoorlijke aanmoediging geervaard. Elf toegewijde hebben aan de cursus deelgenomen. De cursus was verzorgd door prabhu Viswaroop uit Rotterdam (zie fotos). Hij is een van geleerden in de spirituele pad en zeer gemotiveerd om de Vedische wijsheid uit te delen.

Hoewel het eerste dag van de cursus al gebeurd was op 20 november, is het toch nog mogelijk voor de nieuwe collega's te komen deelnemen. We staan open en iedereen is van harte welkom. Er wordt verwacht op 18 december (om 14.45 uur bij Reginahof 2 te Boxtel) dat meer deelnemers willen komen. De kennis van de Bhagavad Gita Zoals ze is, is bedoeld voor iedereen ongeacht zijn geloof en achtergronden.

Iedereen in deze materiele wereld is op zoek naar geluk, kennisen eeuwigheid maar:

Naamhat Boxtel biedt doelgericht en meer leerzaam cultureelprogramma.
De programma van 17 oktober was heel bijzonder voor iedereen. Ruim tien volwassenen toegewijde en veel jongeren hebben deelgenomen aan de programma. Omdat deze dag een speciale dag is van Sri Rama Chandra Bhagavan, het programma begonnen heel vroeg in de ochtend. Ten eerste was de abhisekh voor de deities gedaan. Omdat de Navaratra beëindigde op deze dag de genade van Navadurga was geschonken in de vorm van Dasai tika. Dit was gedaan in de Bhutaanse of Nepalese traditie. Deze traditie van vizaya dasami tika is een proces om de genade of de aanbeveling van de devi en devata (half god en godin) te krijgen en kwalificeren om Krsna te dienen.
Na de middag om 15.00 uur was het programma begonnen met puspanjali aan Srila Prabhupada. Sri Viswarupa prabhu gaaf een inleiding tot de studie van de Bhagavad Gita. Er zijn verschillende leervormen namelijk : luisterende, pratende en discussiërende enz. Met de combinatie van o.a. deze leervormen wordt de Naamhat programma, vanaf 20 november meer doelgericht en leerzaam. Tot nu toe hebben wij o.a. luisterende vorm van de leerproces gevolgd. Daarom noemen wij deze uitgebreide programma als het Naamhat programma met een gezamenlijke studie van de Bhagavad Gita
Voor deze cursus hebben ruim acht toegewijde aangemeld om te volgen. Verwacht wordt dat er meer mensen zullen aanmelden voor deze cursus. Deze wordt gehouden in een gemeenschap-zaal - Reginahof 2, in een loopafstand vanuit de huidige Naamhat centra.
De cursus begint om 15.00 uur op elke 3e zaterdag van de maand en eindigt om 18.00 uur. Daarna komen de deelnemers naar de Naamhatzaal voor de aarati en prasadam.
De doel van het organiseren van deze programma was uitgelegd door Vrajendrasuta aan de aanwezigen van deze programma. Daarvoor hebben wij al een toestemming gekregen van HH Bhakti Caru Swami Maharaj. Celebrating Sri Ram vijay dasami tika in Netherlands

Even the Dutch and Belgian indegenious people honoured the dasai tika at the Vedic cultural mandir in Boxtel in the Bhutanese Nepalis traditional way on 17th October. The deties of Sri Radha Madanamohan, Gauranitai, Nrisimha and Sri Jaganath Baladev Subhadra were done with abhisekh ceremoney and dressed beautifully. This began early in the morining that was followed by Nava Durga worship. Then the devotees from Belgium and near by Dutch including Indians and Bhutanese came to honour the tika. This coninued till the evening. Then a discourse on Bhagavad Gita continued till the evening. In this an introduction of the Gita course was given which shall continue every third Saturdays.Everybody is welcomed to participate in it. Local people appreciated this celebration and commented that every action taken according to the vedic wisdom has very useful meaning. It leads men to attain loving association of the Supreme Lord- ultimate devine where everyone constitutionally belonged.

When Srila Bhakti Caru Swami Maharaj came to Holland last July, he kindly expressed his desire and instructed that all the grand disciples of Srila Prabhupada meet and help each other. He said that he wil come to Holland twice in a year. And he expressed his wish to see then that the grand disciples of Srila Prabhupada are cooperating each other and making progress in applying the wisdom given in teh Books of Srila Prabhupada.

In view of this instructions, I have proposed to Sri Gurumaharaj Bhakti Caru Swami that we the grand disciples of Srila Prabhupada would like to follow a course. The course shall begin with the study of Bhagavad Gita As It is and then followed by the Nectar of Instructions, Sri Isopanisad and the Nectar of Devotion. This course is also good for those who in future want to get second initiation. Guru Maharaj kindly gave the permissiion and blessings today- see his email quoted above.

The course shall be conducted under the guidence of Visvarupa Das.

Place: It will be held at the Gemeenschaphuis in Boxtel.

First day: It will begin from 17th october Sunday- Sri Rama vijaya dasami day. (Naamhat Boxtel program will be on this day).

Jhulan- a way to please the Lord

Jhulan is a playful entertainment of the Lord krishna in Vrindhavan observing which marks the begining of the Naamhat mandir in Boxtel, Netherlands on the Pavitropana ekadasi day of every year that falls in the 3rd week of August, ie 19th this year. This year's celebration marks this Vedic cultural center's 8th anniversary. On this day a small swing is made for Sri Radha Krishna and after nice bhoga offering of sweet and vegetarian disheses They are honoured with the Jhulan service. This is truly pleasing and transcendental and likes the children to play with the Lord.

Naamhat actually mean a market pace of the Holy Name. It was initiated by Lord Nitainanda a close associate of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in 15th centtury in West Bengal. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the recent incarnation of Radha Krishna in the form of devotee who is teaching the content of the Bhagavad Gita As It Is practically.

The purpose of of organising every 3rd Saturdays the Vedic cultural program is to facilitate everyone irrespective of their faith and background to develop devotion and spirituality with the understanding that the God is one and everyone is part and parcel of God, whatever name people may call Him according to their language and understanding. The program intends to help Bhutanese and Nepalese people in The Netherlands in particular, for their healthy integration and preservation of the Vedic aspect of their culture. However accept few elderly people many remaind aloof of this facilities owing to their perosonal prejudices and influence of a few atheistic politicians at the moment. Grand Rathayatra in Eindhoven

22 Aug 2010. The Eindhoven Dagblad dialy reported the Rathayatra festival as a facinating moving temple where everyone is welcomed to join the processioin. The Rathayatra was organised by ISKCON's local Naamhat for the fourth time this year on 21 August.

After several years of devotional service inspired by His Devine Grace AC Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada and his disciples, the local Naamhat is blessed by thier own Rath and deities of Sri Jaganath, Baladev and Subhadra, one of the most merciful form of the God Sri Krishna. Much effort is being put by Sundari Priya mataji and her daughter Ragini and their friends mostly from Brabants for this grand public festival. Vegetarian food namely rice, paneer vegetables and dal soup was cooked in her house for all the thousands of visitors who were served for free in the heart of the city Eindhoven. There was also Indian market display and cultural show that included dances, acrobats and kirtan by young Dutch people of various background.

Everything went extreemly well and evebody was happy who take part in it because the participating to this type of vedic cultural program appeals one's connection with the supreme; the natural tendency between the soul and the supersoul to come close with love. This is because every entity is a part and parcel of God represented by the soul whose presence in the body makes it conscious. The happiness can only be possible to derive in coming in contact of the soul with the supreme in loving devotioal attitude since the supreme is the enjoyer- the source of everything. There were as more than thousand people from many cultural and religious background from the Westen hemisphere. New among them was one man from Nepal and one family from Bhutan although there are thousands of them living in The Netherlands and were cordially invited.

There are many benifit of organising and participating in this type of Vedic cultural programs. It brings one closer to the divine whatever one's faith may be. It redressess one from material contamination and develops spiritual health that will help one to attain self realization and be happy. Just like medicines and diet both are essential for a deseased person, the aural vibration of the holy name of God with the hymn Hare Krsna Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare and the Jagannatha prasad will releave one from the disease of material hedodenism.

The local Naamhat Center of ISKCON; Boxtel and Eindhoven prays and hopes to realize having a local temple in future.

One week earlier much more grand Rathayatra was held in Amsterdam where about ten thousand people participated. This type of Rathayatra is being held in other cities of The Netherlands every year. International en Enlightening retreat Malaga

The presence of enlightened persons of any faith- Hindu, Muslim, Christian or Buddhist is enlightening and enlivening to all those who come to associate with. They radiate the spiritual energy, express the love, speaks the absolute truth and cares everyone's not only physical but more for their spiritual health and the need of the soul. These are some of the experiances shared after a week long seminar in Malaga, Spain where more than 150 people from Europe, Africa and America participated. From the Netherlands was represented by Chandra Kumari in recognition of her contribution to the society through the Vedic cultural programs being organised since 2002 in Boxtel.
The seminar, among various topics also focussed in understanding Krishna the supreme personality of Godhead through the epic of Ramayana. His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami propounded clearly the understanding of the omnipresense of God in all forms of life. It was held in a five star hotel located near the ocean beach and thus also known to be a retreat where people exhausted from the material hedodenism could relax in spiritualism. The temple room was turned into a nice place of worship for all people with any background they are- see fotos. The next such retreat is scheduled in Radhadesh in July next year. A Spanish team including the mayor of Malaga and the hotel owner also came to see the session. They were presented with the Bhagavad Gita As It is and liked it very much.1-8-2010.

The food that promotes the mode of goodness

The food that promotes in human the mode of goodness are those prepared out of grains, flower, fruits, nuts ans vegetables further made tasteful with milk product and spices excluding onion and garlic. No products produced out of killing another sentient being can promote the mode of goodness but passion and ignorance only. That is why vegetarian food is the best because in contrary to the acts the mode of passion urges for undertaking fight, rage, sex, hankering, madness, including destruction of self and the society, the food prepared in the mode of goodness and then offered to the Lord who has bestowed the food grains for the mankind gets removed from the karmic reactions attached to it. In the Naamhat Dhaam we invite people to learn vegetarian cooking and eat together with everyone irrespective of the background and faith. Peace can be maintained in the society only when the mode of goodness to pure goodness can be cultivated in the human beings.

Peace prevails only from the cooperation between the controller and the controlled!

9th July, Boxtel. Peace on earth can be maintained only through the good service attitude between the controller and the controlled. This is aserted in the Bhagavad Gita. Men should perform yagya in order to satisfy the the demigods; the devatas who are the controler of the different departments of the creation of the God, for example rain, air, earth, natural resources etc. Jus like if the beneficiaries of the electric supply at homes pays the monthly bill of their consumption, the energy department of the state shall continue supplying the electricity. In the same way people needs to perform yagya- the fire sacrifice ceremoney in every auspicious days so that the demigods will be satisfied and continue to shower the natural resource supply in a proper way. By doing this the life on earth will enjoy peace and happness.

In view of this the Naamhat Dhaam of Boxtel performed peace fire ceremoney praying to the demigods and goddesses so that there will be adequate supply of the need for the people in The Netherlands in particular. The ceremoney was performed by Rohid das prabhu a temple priest from South India. He did this putting himself in perfect trnacendence and purity. On the same day chuda sanskar ceremoney was performed for Vrajaraj. This ceremoney is performed at the age of four keeping sikkha according to the vedic culture. The fact is that by birth everyone is a sudra- a mode of ignorance and by performing the recommended sanskars or the purification process, one shall elevate to the brahmanical culture - the mode of goodness from which mode one can understand the message of God as it is and can serve the society in conjunction to peace and proseperity.
